The Warsaw Afrobeat Orchestra (WAO) is the only Afrobeat collective in Poland, and perhaps the only one in Eastern Europe, combining elements of funk, reggae, jazz and European music traditions.

WAO not only channel the Nigerian tradition of Fela Kuti and his family, but also introduce elements of dub and broadly defined ethno into the Afrobeat formula, giving their music a fresh and original sound. The ten-piece band, with three unique female vocalists, offers an explosive blend of ethnic music, funky grooves, and a stylish, expansive brass section.
