VEDA

" Weda " is ShataQS's third solo album, a story about a profound journey of self-discovery beneath the surface of one's personas. It's a beautiful complement to the warmly received "Fenix," which strongly encouraged us to shed our costumes and return to being human. Weda, on the other hand, invites the listener on an even deeper search, sometimes reaching into the dark recesses of our own psyche. It's a profound look into one's roots, into ancestral patterns, into finding the flow and restoring cellular knowledge. Confronting one's shadows, seeking and discovering femininity, and awakening one's wild nature are among the many themes explored on the album.

Like "Fenix," "Weda" is written in Polish, in the human-friendly tuning of A=432Hz. Its musical foundation is the acoustic sounds and compositions of Wrocław-based guitarist and producer Maciek Czemplik, who, as with "Fenix," tenderly wrapped the lyrics of "Weda" in his arrangements. The album's greatest asset is the additional vocals of exceptional vocalists: Michał Rudaś, with his distinctive timbre and unusual Slavic-Indian lilt, and Kasia "Pakosa" Pakowska, with her engaging, bright sound, known from the Wrocław-based group Kosy, composed of four beautiful voices united in songs from Lower Silesia. They also appear on the album, lending their sound to the title track, "Weda." Wrocław-based storyteller Bartek Chojnacki plays double bass, Edward "Eddy" Poliński and Maciej Henel-Celis on drums, and Tomas Celis Sanchez on percussion. A significant guest on "Weda" is Leszek Możdżer, who adds his sound, feel, and musical imagination to several tracks, beautifully complementing the entire album.

"This is a very important album for me because, in a sense, it concludes my several-year Phoenix journey. When a person desires change, the universe arranges all the circumstances to bring about that change. However, it is up to the person to notice the signs and signals and be brave enough to take advantage of them, because change is not always easy."
