This Isn't Hip-Hop. Conversations III

In the previous two volumes, Jacek Baliński and Bartek Strowski proved they knew how to conduct substantive interviews with the people who set the tone for the rap scene. The third part, "This Is Not Hip-Hop. Conversations," simply had to be written.

Taco Hemingway, Oskar and Steez83 (PRO8L3M), KęKę, Pezet, Miuosh, Włodi – the list of celebrities who graced the first two books goes on and on. However, Polish hip-hop is such a rich and fascinating phenomenon that the authors had no problem selecting another fifteen people to interview for the third volume.

"This Is Not Hip-Hop: Conversations III" continues the tradition of its predecessors, featuring both incredibly popular rappers and less media-conscious but equally important figures: producers, DJs, designers, and publishers. Baliński and Strowski meticulously prepared for each interview, resulting in complete commitment and trust from their interviewees. Suffice it to say that the nearly 350-page book was based on a whopping 75 hours of recordings.

"Working on this installment was very intense, but also incredibly satisfying. After a few meetings, I felt like we'd reinvented the interview format. Bartek and I were guided by the idea of ​​asking as few questions as possible, listening as much as possible, and giving our interviewees as much freedom as possible. We've raised the bar once again, and I think the third volume is the best yet," says publisher, co-author, and managing editor Jacek Baliński.

From the outset, the "This is not hip-hop. Conversations" book series has placed a strong emphasis on visuals, with Ania Bystrowska once again responsible for the photography, and Jacek Rudzki, a graphic designer known as Znajomy Grafik, providing the illustrations. These names guarantee readers the highest level of quality and unconventional ideas.
