The First Look

The first look , the debut album by Marta Król featuring leading jazz musicians of the younger generation in Poland, including: Dawid Główczewski (saxophones), Paweł Tomaszewski (piano, rhodes poano), Andrzej Święs (double bass), Paweł Dobrowolski (drums) and Tomasz Kałwak (keyboards, arrangements).

The album harks back to jazz standards from years past, this time reimagined with new sonic concepts, both dynamic and very calm, emphasizing a so-called minimalism of musical expression. Marta Król is a newcomer to the Polish jazz scene. A laureate of numerous vocal and jazz festivals, her interpretations emphasize the beauty of timbre, simplicity, and crucial phrasing.
