I didn't spend much time thinking about how to celebrate my 65th birthday. It's obvious to me that, since I'm a musician, I should commemorate such an anniversary musically. However, I decided this time not to record another album of melodic songs, although I can't avoid melody, as I was born in a Slavic country where melody is the most important musical value. The album "Telefon Pomoc" contains music that stylistically fascinated me in my youth and has been very appealing for decades, but until now I haven't had the opportunity to compose and record it on such a scale. As you'll probably hear, I'm not concerned with fashionable styles or the advice of media decision-makers. I play how I like and I'm proud that at my age I can muster so much musical energy.

MIETEK JURECKI – HOMO SAPIENS
My life is racing at a frantic pace, and no restrictions or lockdowns can slow it down. I mark time with new compositions and albums, but recently I've been reflecting on the reasons and meaning of my work. This is how music and a draft of a theatrical script were created, with the working title "The Life of a Clown." Staszek Głowacz set this music to beautiful lyrics and ultimately titled the piece "Homo Sapiens." Preparations are currently underway for a theatrical production inspired by this music.
