Songs of the Master

Grzegorz Ciechowski is a role model for many contemporary artists. His poetic and characterful compositions remain a limitless source of musical inspiration to this day. Kovalczyk's project, an album and concert tour titled "Songs of the Master," examines the work of this distinguished artist through the lens of electronic music. Electronic music has been an important element in his work, but it has never dominated it.

In creating this set of nine songs, Kovalczyk took care to avoid overinterpretation – although he changed the arrangements we're familiar with, he ensured they were recognizable. He also infused them with his full range of skills and energy. This energy is audible from the very first note recorded on this album. The result is a cohesive and fresh-sounding album, surprising with its excellent electronics, sublime beats, and ethereal saxophone and flute parts. The use of this type of instrumentation is consistent with the melancholy heard in Ciechowski's compositions, which can be found here as well. This demonstrates that the entire album was created with great respect for the artist's work, while maintaining a distinct musical character, one that is both unique and recognizable to Kovalczyk.

Most of the songs written by Grzegorz Ciechowski, which we'll hear on this compilation, have retained their timely and important message despite the passage of time. Performed in a modern musical form, these pieces remain relevant and relatable to younger generations of Poles. This was key to the creation of this album and the selection of songs for it.
