The band 19 Wiosen (19 Springs) was formed in October 1989, on a train between Łódź and Wrocław. The idea came from two fans of punk and other genres (e.g., The Stooges, New York Dolls, and MC5). Franek and Marcin, after finding keyboardist and Chaos UK fan Fagot, decided to form a band. They began using pseudonyms: Franciszek M. (guitar, bass); Zygmunt Waleczny (organ, drums); Henryk Ulik (vocals and lyrics).
They released their first recordings themselves in 1993 – the material titled CO KAŻDĄ CHWILE and ZMARNOWANY KWIAT (WASTED FLOWER) the same year. Archival recordings from that period were released on CD by Paweł Dunin Wąsowicz in LAMPA magazine, issue 7, October 2004, titled "CO KAŻDĄ CHWILE. ZMARNOWANY KWIAT". In 1994, the lineup was joined by Ireneusz Janik (Pogłos) – drums and Marcin Czerniak (Czesław Mak) – bass. The band began touring, playing sporadically, primarily in Łódź and Warsaw, but also in Toruń, Świdnik, and Tłuszcz. In 1997, they recorded a vinyl split LP with the band STARZY SINGERS on the MALARIE RECORDS label.
In 2001, they attempted to reactivate the band in the portable studio URYNABOX, but managed to record a cross-section of material from their previous concert career, which was released by the NIKT NIC NIE WIE label in December 2004. The album "11 zim" (11 winters) is a review of the band's history with the previous lineup (1993-2004). In March 2004, the band decided to reactivate: Franek M. temporarily withdrew from the new incarnation of the band, recommending Konstanty Usenko, known from bands such as SUPER GIRL & ROMANTIC BOYS, Ameba, and THE LESZCZERS, as his replacement. A rhythm section from the industrial band JUDE was also added, along with Łukasz Franek on bass and Szymon Janiaczek on drums. The band, now under their current names, includes Grzegorz J. Fajngold (formerly Z.Waleczny) on keyboards and Marcin Pryt (H.Ulik) on vocals and lyrics. With the new strictly male line-up, the group managed to give a series of concerts in 2004 in Warsaw, Łódź (with the electro grllz punk band MASS KOTKI), Wrocław (at a squat on ul. Kromera), Poznań (Rozbrat). They performed at the international festival of independent culture in Belarus "No culture without Subculture" on November 17-20, and also performed with SUPER GIRL & ROMANTIC BOYS at the Decenrum in Białystok. In December, they performed at an event organized by the Lampa magazine, together with, among others, the group Andy. Then they went on a mini tour to Germany, performing at the Subversive club in Berlin and in the building of the burned-down Rote Flora theater in Hamburg. In the December issue of the Lampa magazine, their new song "Bez matka" was released on the CD Radio Lampa compilation. Winter and spring of 2005 saw the creation of material for the EP "Piękno" (Beauty). In June 2005, new songs and several older ones in new arrangements were recorded at the "Kaukaz" studio (on Kaukaska Street) in Warsaw. In August 2005, Marcin Pryt published a volume of his poems, songs, and drawings with the Lampa i Iskra Boża publishing house, titled "Szpital Heleny Wolf" (Helena Wolf Hospital).
"Lampa" magazine is once again featuring songs from 19 Wiosen on its "Radio Lampa" compilation album: "Struktura" (June issue) and "Piękno" (December issue). On September 19, 2005, the program Poza Kontrolą on TVP Kultura aired a 21-minute performance of the group, directed by Żurek. It is replayed periodically. The band is currently preparing to promote the album "Piękno," including playing at the Festival of Four Cultures.
