Cloud People

"Ludzie chmur" ("Cloud People") is a unique musical offering from Skorupa. Although the rapper has been active in the hip-hop scene for many years, this is the first time he's presented an album entirely produced by one, or rather two, producers, the duo JazBrothers. "I really like the style of their beats, the technique based on cleverly cut and well-chosen samples, the slow tempo and strongly exposed rhythm sections, and the interesting groove," Skorupa explains her choice, simultaneously defining the album's character. He adds: "'Ludzie chmur' ("Cloud People") is a different sound than before. The slow tempo of the beats allows for experimentation with flow. Live instruments also appear.

The release features 14 premiere tracks and accompanying 14 premiere backing tracks. Skorup, described as an "artistically sensitive guy," uses a language that's both accessible and distinctive. In many cases, the simplicity conceals a hidden meaning, as evidenced by the album's metaphorical title. On his fifth album in a row, the artist once again demonstrates his ability to "connect things that are difficult to connect." He explores personal, human, and universal themes. He paints complete pictures before the listener's eyes, often meticulously crafting the narrative down to the smallest detail.

The album is promoted by singles such as "Zagubiona Highwaya," "Drzewo," the title track "Ludzie chmur," and "Chłodny front," featuring arguably one of the world's best alternative artists, Mela Koteluk. DJ Eprom oversaw the album's production. Guests from the Polish jazz scene also contributed to its creation.

The album is released by MaxFloRec. Media patrons include Interia, AllAboutMusic.pl, CGM.pl, "Freestyle," Popkiller.pl, Akademickie Radio Kampus, the RapDuma portal, TVP Katowice, and T-Mobile Music. Legalna Kultura is the patron. The physical version of the album is exclusively distributed by MyMusic Group.

Two years ago, reviewing Skorup's previous album, "Piękna Pogoda," in Interia, Daniel Wardziński wrote: "He can rap in a straightforward manner, with long pauses that add momentum to the lyrics, but also when he speeds up and throws out more content, he presents himself clearly and interestingly. (...) All of Skorup's previous materials have convinced him that he is a unique, inimitable, and extremely positive figure, especially in the Polish rap scene." What is Skorup like on "Ludzi chmur"?
