Florence and the Machine High As Hope (PL)

"High As Hope" is an album from an artist who has never been so confident. Florence describes her experiences in her twenties from a more mature perspective. The album features stories about growing up in South London, family, relationships, and art. "High As Hope" is both intimate and epic. Florence has never been known for minimalism, but on her fourth album, she dares to discuss certain issues in the simplest possible way.

One moment, "High As Hope" is a tribute to Patti Smith, the next, a story about pondering a text from a crush. "High As Hope" is a collection of joyful events and those that could drive you to infuriation. But in the end, joy prevails. "Of course, it's always a complicated process, and I certainly haven't figured everything out, but I feel like "High As Hope" is a good reflection of where I am currently as an artist. I feel like I'm more honest, I'm definitely more comfortable with myself," says Florence Welch.

"High As Hope" features an impressive lineup of guests: Kamasi Washington, Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr, Kelsey Lu, and Jamie xx. The album was mixed in New York, and the city's panorama, serene and majestic, in stark contrast to the chaos of the world around us, inspired Florence to choose this title for her fourth album.

"High As Hope" is not only a foray into new territory but also a return to the artist's roots. It's the first album on which the singer served as co-producer.
