Férias no Brasil is certainly not an all-inclusive vacation. It's clear that the team behind this endeavor doesn't offer anything they wouldn't enjoy themselves. No reconstructive techniques or easy folklore for tourists. We listen to music steeped in jazz tradition, but created today by mature and confident artists who can afford to be spontaneous. Overall, this album overwhelms the sensitive listener – with its rhythm, melodies, and timbre (that vibrant sound of a Hammond with Leslie speakers...) – but it's precisely this violence, acting like a stunningly beautiful landscape, that we willingly succumb to.
