The Basic Version includes:
-AR-15 EP,
-set of stickers.
Peja and Magiera's second mini-album, scheduled for 2020, is AR-15. Consisting of nine premiere compositions, the material is a well-developed formula thanks to which the artists are able to complete the entire album from scratch in 14 days (!)
The only track written much earlier is "Red Zone," which evokes memories of the spring lockdown and, due to frostbite, wouldn't have made it onto the Black Album. It's so relevant today that the artist decided to record it in the studio. It's short, quite analytical, and most importantly, powerful.
There were also guests from the States. Peja had previously collaborated with both men (with M-Dot on the track "Bez niedź na wszystko" from the 2014 album RDW), as had Kool G Rap, who provided the chorus for the NNFoF collaboration, which featured guest appearances from Rycho, Pih, and Jeżozwierz. M-Dot, with his energy and hyper-masterful skill, delivered a beat that, as he put it, "Magiera tailored perfectly to him."
How did Rychu cope? He posted a short note on his stories: "After re-editing the lines and heavily re-structuring them, I sound at par, like his poor cousin." It's a truly enlightening experience, considering the Boston native regularly collaborates with heavy hitters like Method Man, DJ Premier, and Pete Rock.
"The creative process itself took place in a great atmosphere – which was enthusiastically fueled the entire time by our compatriot from overseas – encouraging us with his "Let's make history!". This track features the only DJ accent in the form of a follow-up to the Alkaholics crew performed by DVJ. Rink, as is his rule, is sparse, but classy. As for Kool G Rap's participation, who was originally supposed to appear on the Black Album in the song "Enter the Dragon" (due to another premiere where he was a guest, the artists decided not to repeat the theme) – the process itself went just as well.
"When someone like KGR calls you and I pay attention to detail, asking about the creative process while keeping an eye on deadlines, you can feel the authenticity and sincerity. Besides the fact that he did me, as a long-time fan, a great honor by adding his lines, besides his professionalism, he also gave us great respect. I can only respect him even more, if even more possible," concludes Rich. The increase in reach mentioned in the title therefore makes sense.
What's next? The powerful, life-affirming OMOTIOW (About Me, About You, and About You)—three distinct stories, bound together by an atmospheric chorus set in a highly experimental arrangement—will be a feast for the ears of the discerning listener. The album opens with the title track, which borders on rock thanks to Sid's guitar. Does the controversial content of the title truly shine through? You'll find out soon. There are also highly atmospheric moments, such as the choruses in "Flamenco" and "Paradox szympansa," which, in an electronically enhanced variation, gains incredible dynamics, considering the sparseness of the lyrics.
Returning to Flamenco, this is the only composition with rapping that's less classical and more so-called new school. Rychu has developed his own storytelling style against a musical backdrop that might evoke a fusion of songs from the past (KC, Druga pustyni). Beyond the associations, we have a very interesting story here, unless Marcin Flint reduces it to the cliché of glossy housewives' magazines.
The track "Richtown" deserves a separate paragraph. Rychu is known for promoting his city, pride in his origins, local patriotism, and the promotion of talented, independent artists. Regardless of how many people he's supported in the past, he continues to expose a wider audience to those who still have their moment in the spotlight. The extended version of Rysiek's track about the city features verses from 12 rappers, including his closest circle from RPS and those with whom he's recorded regularly over the past few years.
This is a team that knows no bounds, and their collaboration is based on mutual respect and simple sympathy. Its creation was only a matter of time. And since the time wasn't wasted, get ready for a true Poznań bombshell. No clichés, but a surprise in the form of verses from Piąty Dwa, Fazi, and Iceman, who reunite 25 years after recording the song "Anty."
Not much? After all, it's just a mini album. Another very successful mini album. After the 2050 EP and the full-length Black Album, we can confidently say that both gentlemen worked very hard and, therefore, honestly throughout 2020. Their palpable consistency and shared musical vision make these gentlemen simply impossible to ignore. We don't know what could stop this well-oiled machine, "great-grandparents who, like Statler and Waldorf, sometimes like to poke fun at our native rap game" during their coffee and cigarette breaks.
We strongly recommend it, because it's worth it!
AR-15 EP will be released in two versions - Basic (7 tracks) and Deluxe (Box containing 9 tracks) + bonus CD (instrumentals) and AR-15 on cassette (MC).
Boomski, the duo's lead artist, is responsible for the graphics. Mastering was traditionally handled by DJ Eprom (Eprom Sounds Studio).
You will be able to purchase the AR-15 in special packages with previous releases in any combination.
In addition, there will be merch and gadgets produced especially for this occasion, which will be included in the limited deluxe box.
Due to the smaller number of songs on the album, the artists do not want to spoil the tracks on YouTube before the premiere - so they start by uploading a classic promomix that will verify their own opinion about this release.
We would like to remind you that AR-15 EP is a limited edition of 5,000 copies.
Due to the complicated market situation caused by the pandemic, you will only be able to make a purchase here.
The only plans are for a vinyl release, along with other outstanding titles, scheduled for 2021.
