The Toasters An American 2Tone Band

An American 2Tone Band is an album released to celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Toasters. The Toasters are considered Ska pioneers (as Billboard Magazine has dubbed them). Due to their long history and unwavering adherence to their established principles, the band has been compared to The Ramones and considered one of the most influential Ska bands in the US. Formed in 1981 in Manhattan, New York, by guitarist Robert "Bucket" Hingley, the band quickly established itself on the Lower East Side scene. Their performances at legendary clubs like CBGB and Danceteria quickly convinced skeptics. Throughout their existence, the band has played over 4,000 shows worldwide, and at around 200 shows a year, they are on track to play 5,000 this decade! Over the years, the band's lineup has changed many times. Fans and critics of the band agree that the current international lineup, which brings together members from some of the biggest ska bands in the world, is one of the best in the band's turbulent history.
