"A skiela Wy" is a project that deviates slightly from the band's mainstream activity, an album that is unique, inspiring and true in every respect, and this is due both to the extraordinary creative process and the musical material that has been a universal carrier of human emotions for centuries.

What exactly makes this new Enej album so special? The key lies primarily in an idea that had long been thriving in the minds of the band's musicians. They dreamed of a journey, both in the real and metaphysical realms, of rediscovering and giving contemporary shape to folk art collected from various corners of Poland and Ukraine. As soon as a little time appeared in the band's busy schedule, the idea was immediately put into action.

"A Skiela Wy?" is a collection of 12 folk songs collected and newly arranged by the band Enej, along with two well-known original compositions in a completely new setting. It's a respectful nod to tradition while also giving it a youthful touch. The material comprises songs from Warmia, Masuria, Kurpie, the Lublin region, Podhale, Kashubia, and Ukraine, as well as songs that have appeared in almost every region of Poland throughout history. The melodies will undoubtedly be recognizable to every listener, but the musical eclecticism that the group members have successfully utilized for a long time, drawing on a variety of genres and cultures, may come as a surprise. What do the oberek and New Orleans rhythms have in common? It turns out quite a lot; folk music around the world draws on certain universal motifs that seem to be partially immune to geopolitical and historical conditions. This is precisely what the album "A Skiela Wy?" successfully, if unobtrusively, demonstrates.

The instrumentation and sound will certainly prove intriguing. It's hard to find the stronger guitar riffs present in almost all of the band's previous work. This time, Enej opts for an acoustic, delicate sound, expanding the musical palette with additional instruments and voices belonging to both the group members and invited guests. Mention should be made here of the otherworldly voices of the Zazula Vocal Group, who use white vocals, the Podhale Highlanders, and the wonderful guests from Kashubia and Kurpie, thanks to whom the listener will be exposed to the languages, dialects, and styles characteristic of the regions from which the songs originate. The whole experience is united by the voice of Piotr "Lolek" Sołoducha, vocalist and leader of the band, already familiar to a wider audience, and the sounds of instruments that have long been present in the band.

"A Skiela Wy?" offers a wide range of experiences, a true treat for folk music fans, but they're not the only ones who will find something to enjoy on Enej's new album. Their creative approach to arranging traditional melodies ensures everyone will surely find their favorite rhythms and sounds, and the youthful energy (which the musicians still exude) makes the songs suitable for both home listening and dancing. It's a must-have for every music lover, a nod to universal values ​​and tradition with a youthful, smiling face.
