O.S.T.R. 7

The album "7" was in continuous production since June 2005, when Ostry finished work on POE. Musically, Ostry, as a producer, abandoned sampling in favor of authentically his own compositions. However, when composing and playing new productions, he didn't resort to live instruments, but utilized his new toy: the K-Station synthesizer (90% of the production) and, as a subsidiary, the MPC 60 and MPC 1000 samplers. Thanks to its reliance on his own compositions, Ostry considers "7" not only his most polished album, but also one that best reflects his personal aspirations, intentions, and plans for the material. It is a complete and self-contained work in itself. The lack of samples makes it difficult to identify the music from "Siódemka" with Ostry's well-known jazz inspirations, but despite using modern electronics, Ostry has retained the funky convention of the 70s on the album, and this is precisely what makes the new album original - both in comparison to his first two albums and the (very different) last two "jazz" albums.

Lyrically, "7" is a concept album. It's a clear story about the lives of Ostry, his friends, and the world around them. The cohesive storytelling is based on the experiences of a typical Polish twenty-something who has just come of age and must deal with both the burdens placed upon him by the old system and the barriers placed before him by the new one.

The album features guest appearances by: DJ Haem, who once again reached the top of the national charts, Tame One from the cult band The Artifacts for some Hip-Hop listeners, the group Skill Mega (Ostry's English friends) and Kochan, Zeus and Hryta.
